I share so much to all of you, that sometimes even all of us need a shoulder to lean on. 
Being that it is getting closer to Summer for me here in Australia. Summer will be a time of turmoil for me, as it is one time that I remember the cooking that my mother did in the kitchen, the days shared at the beach, the smile on her face, her laughter, her scolding and her love of my son. But alas the reason for this being hard for me, is that my mother suffers from severe dementia. Moving her into a nursing home a few months back was the hardest thing to do in my whole life. 

Apart from trying to be the strong one in the family, and putting on a brave face, my heart hurts like no other.  I am now in the process of moving my father to a smaller house near my mother where they can be together and celebrate their continual love for one another. It has been some 50+ years that they have been married and I can only hope myself that I too will share that amount of time and love with someone for that long. 

The turmoil that I face is going through my mothers possessions and their house and contents, and the feeling that I am intruding on their lives together. The little trinkets, the hidden items that she forgot and put down, the letters to us children that she kept, the little tokens of love we gave to them both to say i'm sorry when we were young.  The do I throw out, do I keep, what do i keep, the how can I do this feeling is so overwhelming.  It was going through the DVD collection, which broke me. I found the DVD of Meet Joe Black, one of my mother's favorites, in which she played on the piano to me, the piano that I am making plans to move to my house. I play for you this song below. 

So for all of you, please remember it is 'Dementia Week' and I hope you share with me your love and blessing as I struggle through this tough time.

I was at a friends house the other day and we sat down to watch a DVD. Out comes Gladiator, one of my absolute favorite movies. However I will say, each and every time the movie and the end theme song evokes such strong emotions inside. It captures such moments and feelings of sadness, happiness, love, beauty and many other powerful feelings which are just too hard to describe.  I have always wondered what the words mean at the end of the movie. I just couldn't resist!!. Waiting until the clock struck 12am SLT time, I teleported as the first 20 of us arrived at the destination for today - the must see 'Designers United'.

I can't believe they are so unbelievably adorable and innocent while they play and sleep! Super tempted to just gently pat their heads. Then they'll wake up and give me the sheepish face. Okay ignore me. :)

Miley Cyrus made news last week with a carnival like stage performance at the MTV Awards. The show included life size teddy bears, flesh coloured underwear, and plenty of gorgeous quivering brown buttocks. Almost immediately after the performance many viewers, television hosts, media all went on a rampage at how she could put on a show like that. The comments were something like distasteful, shocking, and many coloured people thought that is was inappropriate of Miley to dance - "twerk" like she did, (so say the press releases).

Yet I look back at the awards, and think, Yes Miley has grown up, She is no longer the sweet and innocent girl anymore. However it was a show. A show to entertain, a show to flaunt her body. To show people she is amazingly beautiful. Her skin is perfect, her waist line to die for, and above all, she can do what she wants when she wants. Can't she?
I am not a fan of Miley Cyrus, but I don't agree with people mocking others for the way they look.

I think, that as long as you are not upsetting yourself with any particular routine, that you are fit and healthy, then there is nothing wrong with showing people that you love who you are, and that you are happy. Did Miley seem unhappy at all? I think far from it.  For once, why doesn't the media, embrace women for their beauty and state, " Miley, Congratulations, you are a beautiful, carefree, and talented woman".

I decided to go on a bit of a spontaneous little picnic by myself today. Once the idea popped into my head I was obsessed with it and planned on making it exactly what I was after, a Relaxing Sunday.

So setting myself out on this gorgeous French destination today, I perched myself down, grabbed a bottle of red, and opened a book that I haven't had a chance to read since Christmas. I bet you all have one of those right?

With the enchanting rays soaking into my skin, wearing the new delights of Eyelure teamed up with Ison and the new skin from Belleza from Collabor88. I felt quite warm sitting out in the sun capturing all the goodness of the Vitamin D around me.

Looking around, the place is nearly deserted, sort of peaceful, with cicadas chirping by, birds squawking and ocean marine life nearby. This destination today, is a very pretty place, and the atmosphere is just perfect for that relaxing picnic and a chance to unwind.

So if you are like me and wanting to unwind, to take in the scenery and sounds.

The one event I look forward to at home, is the Market Day held on Sunday's in Sydney. It is at a place called "The Rocks", basically where everything began in Sydney. The Rocks history goes back to when the first settlers arrived and even to this day still has the cobblestones on the ground and the smell of iron and coal from the shipping docks nearby.

On Sunday's the market atmosphere comes alive where you'll find passionate people selling things you'll love in a cool, relaxed environment. Items sold include crafts and art, photography, vegetables, home cooked bread, jewellery, fashion and little bits and pieces that we all love. Home items being my favourite.

So visiting this market today, wearing the delights of the fabulous hair of Dura and the beauty that beholds with Celoe and Gizza, I bring to you our final destination for today:-

If you haven't worked it out by now, I need visual stimulation, and the one place that I obtain that from is on my holidays in the Southern parts of NSW, what I call the Southern Highlands. I dream of it, drool over it and all I want to do is escape and get there as fast as possible. A place with no internet, hardly any reception. Just a place to unwind.

I guess you could say I'm hooked. The reason being is the landscape is always changing, the smell of fresh air, the country life, crops being harvested, and the wonderful cloud formations or even so much as the mist just hovering over the cows backs at the first signs of the morning light.

When you travel down the highway, past Kangaroo Valley and don't laugh there is such a place, you just feel relaxed and your heart starts to sing.  In the Southern Highlands, there is a real sense of fun , excitement, just people are genuinely friendly and so relaxed. Living in around Sydney or just north of, the beaches are beautiful, and I am very lucky where I live, but just sometimes I crave the country and the feeling of being back to nature once again. 

This destination today, it took my breath away.  Wearing the beautiful styles of Gizza, (currently upstairs on sale), It was almost like closing my eyes and thinking I am here once again, I have missed you, I am home. Home to the Southern Highlands and I will not leave you.

In today's irritatingly fast world, you tend to deprive yourself of the much needed oxygen that is anyways getting depleted with time. I have found, that the earliest hours in the morning is my favourite time for a walk. I love the sounds of nature, the smell of the fresh air, the birds waking, the sounds of life awakening in the morning.  I always love this quality time to spend with the greenery and beauty around me, that awakens my mind and makes me feel happy for the day. 

It is quite possible that amidst so much that's happening around you, it is easy to overlook the beauty around us. A great walk, for some has not been possible, but it just takes one small effort and to aim for short distances at a time.  A short walk as a goal for perhaps 10 mins, then increasing later to next week 20 mins and then the following week stretch for a full 30 mins your body will sing praises apart from admiring nature, people, noticing things you haven't seen before for quite some time.

For many of us those things for which you either need luck or in many ways time, it is possible to change today. Don't wait till tomorrow, why shorten your life span, Think to yourself I can do it, I will walk for 10 mins today and start to believe in myself. To give myself a goal, whilst again noticing the beauty around us.

Whilst on my morning walk today, I am comfortably wearing the crisp, new top from Eyelure adorning with the funky styles of Legal Insanity.

Candy Fair is almost upon us. Candy Fair is an event created for the love of Candy and Sugar by two top designers -MelissaJeanne Flores from Elephante Poses and Danicasaerwen Resident - Dani & Co. Shapes.

We all love Candy right?, so it was decided to feature all the sweetness that goes along with it.

When visiting Gizza the other day,  I came across the new Gizza - Burlesque Corset and couldn't resist posing this for you. It actually made me think of when I went to a stage show in Sydney the other day. It reminded me that at it's core, burlesque is about sexuality on your own tems - outrageous, suggestive or demure, with the hint of a tease put back into strip tease.  Even the quick flash of a shoulder can be naughty. :)

Dancers hold the audience in the palm of their hands, the crowd hanging onto their every move, the little bumb, wink and toss of a boa. They are in complete control of their powerful sexuality while they strut and bask in the spotlight for their audience. Performing the flirtatiously feminine and provocative moments of burlesque without apology is celebrating womanhood in all its glory.  Burlesque dancers exude confidence. You will see every body shape: skinny, curvy, short, and tall. Yet what you notice is a performer's attitude. They don't care if they have some extra padding, cellulite or that they have freckles.  All you see, is their smile, the way they move, and that they are empowering and healing to their body image to see that there is room for everyone to do what they are doing.  Burlesque holds no barriers. It is about being confident in yourself and loving the way you look no matter how you look.
