So what are you waiting for, come take a walk to our destinations for today.

I was caught being a rock and a hard place the other day, I don’t know if you know that expression. Most definitely an Aussie expression. To explain: -  I was unsure whether to post this as black and white or the original colour. I thought to myself what am I achieving with this picture.

I wanted to present an augmented reality. I find that Black and White photography can be a step away from reality.  The more steps you move away from reality, the closer you will get to the essence of the picture. There was another, deeper and intuitively reason for moving away from reality: every step away from reality adds something substantial to the aesthetics in a work of art. Simply put: I find Black and White becomes more beautiful.

I find as well that black and white photography has more visual depth. Black and white photography is an interpretation. In other words, in differences of lights, also known as light contrast. This means that using one color, the color gray, the differences between luminance values become clearly visible in a way that is almost impossible in color.

So I decided to go with black and white..my augmented reality for today.

Am curious from any Russian women that read this blog for some more information.

I have been told, that when Russia and China vote together on UN Resolutions (such as their recent veto of the UN Resolution on Syria), I was advised that these two countries’ collectively and literally should marry each other someday soon. The reason being China has many more men than women. Russia has the opposite problem.

It’s easy to understand why China’s population has more men than women. Many years of the one-child-per-family law and an overwhelming preference for sons made abortion and infanticide of baby girls almost de rigueur. In Russia, it appears from the media that they have more women than men. For a long time the reason was that World War II had wiped out the male population. Russia lost over 29,000,000 during that conflict, most of them men. These days, the reasons are less dramatic and probably have more to do with lifestyle choices than anything else.

Most Western men who spend any time in Russia quickly find out that they can have their pick of beautiful Russian girls. It’s assumed that this is because the Russians are aching to move away. But really it’s because men are such a rare commodity in Russia.  Russian women find that the scarcity of men affects relationships in all sorts of ways, both blatant and subtle.

Despite the risk of death and/or heartbreak, women in Russia still believe that finding a man is of paramount importance. The disproportionate amount of men in Russia is not all bad news. It just means that Russian women need to look outside their own country.. Are there any Tarzans out there do you know?

Do you roll out of the bed, or so called drag yourself out of bed, do you hit the alarm three times before finally giving up you have to get up now or you’ll be late.


Do you rush for that coffee pot only to find out you slept in too much and now have to run for the bus and can’t get your morning fix. Do you find yourself sometimes missing your morning ritual shower only because you now are running more than an hr late and you know the boss will be there before you.






Sadly two destinations are closing today,  and that being Shiny Shabby for the (month of June), who returns for their new and exciting month of ‘July’; and lastly that being Summerfest 16, who have had a record intake of people visiting their destination.  The amazing Gacha Guardians is still running and I had a blast finishing that one on the weekend.

Collect aluminum cans, save them up and cash them in. Donate the funds you make to your local animal rescue/shelter to help save more lives. If there is a specific pet in need at the shelter (i.e. special needs cat who needs funds for a surgery), you can donate towards the cause.

2. DONATE NEW OR GENTLY USED TOWELS AND BLANKETS
Animal shelters and rescues can always use new or gently used towels and blankets. Blankets and towels are used to line pet carriers (when traveling to and from the veterinarian or to their adoption). Blankets and towels are also appreciated by the pets waiting for adoption, as while they wait they can have a soft place to snuggle up on and call their own. So rather than throw out that old clean towel, why not donate towards an animal shelter.

3. TAKE SHELTER DOGS TO LOCAL DOG PARK WITH BANDANNAS
Organize a small group of volunteers to walk the shelter/rescue dogs at a local park once a week. Each week, have the adoptable dogs wear their “Adopt Me” bandannas on your walks. This is a great way to provide much needed exercise for the dogs and increase exposure to the community- of dogs in need of homes. You’ll increase adoptions and provide an enjoyable walk for the dogs at the same time and have some fun while you’re at it.

4.  VOLUNTEER 1X/WEEK/FORTNIGHT/WEEKEND
The key is to volunteer on a regular basis or at least when you can. What does your local animal shelter or rescue need? Do they need help with cleaning cages, or someone to hold the cats for a while at the shelter, perhaps even someone to walk the dogs? Find out what they need and make a plan to help. Set a date and time to come each week or fortnight, or when you can, and spend time with the animals. Not only will you be making a difference by lifting the spirits of the pets who are waiting for adoption, you can increase adoptions by taking photos while volunteering and sharing them on your social media pages and with your friends, family and co-workers. Spread the word that you’re volunteering and invite others to join you and to come to the shelter to adopt. It all helps.

On the 25th of this month in Australia, we remember those who fought at Anzac Day.

Anzac Day commemorates those Australian and New Zealanders who fell 102 years ago at a muddy beach in a cove at Gallipoli, described as ''a small constrained area surrounded by the sea and steep terrain''. 100 years is not that long ago, if you think about it. More than 620 Australians died on the first day of this protracted campaign against the Turks. In a period of five months, by December, more than 8000 Australians were killed. That is history: history preserved and honored. The Anzacs who remained - the ones who marched every April 25 until age wearied and ultimately claimed them - have also long gone, but their spirit, their hardship,  and the thousands and thousands of other people from different countries that gave up their lives in wars continues to grow stronger in the public consciousness with each passing year.

I was asked by a family member the other day, if the 'Wars' didn't happen, what would the world be like now? It made me think, would we be in the dark ages again, economies combined, or having to start all over again.

Here are some of my thoughts on what it would be like if the wars never happened…

There would have been continuous numerous smaller wars in Europe, and in Australia even today. - Both World wars are what it took to convince Europe that its centuries of warfare really were unsustainable. Without them, Europe would have colonized The Levant, Palestine and portions of Asia Minor when the Ottoman Empire collapsed - There was no way even without WWI that the Ottomans would have ruled their empire after 1920 or so. Southern Europe would have likely been either colonized by Northern Europe or fell under its influence - This can be seen by Churchill’s request that Greece fall under British influence after WWII.

The following nations I believe would not exist - Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Bulgaria, any of various states of the former Yugoslavia, the former Czechoslovakia, Israel, Lebanon, Syria. Libya, Cyprus, the majority of the African states, the majority of nations in Asia, particularly South Asia and Australia would not be the same as it is today.

I believe that many of today’s inventions would have been postponed 10-15 years or simply never invented This exhaustive list includes: radar, jet aircraft, modern rockets, telemetry, home computers, satellites, the integrated circuit, lasers and, of course, nuclear weapons, even so much as the Internet and mobile phone that we cherish today, may not exist. Even so much as the clothes and food we love, the diverse range of food available from other countries, our clothing imports, love of fashion would all be different.

It is all about, ‘Lest we Forget’. Without those loved ones, we would not be where we are now. My reason for explaining the above, is don’t be so selfish to forget,  Without your family, loved ones, friends and partners, their hardship, has changed our lives forever, and without their courage and sacrifice our life would not be the same.

So when I start to feel in this mood, I wanted to share my top five tips on how to believe in yourself.

Maintain an attitude of gratitude - Regardless of how life seems to challenge you, if you put out good thoughts you'll attract these in return. I've applied this lesson from personal relationships through to my business and it works.

Do something nice - I am not talking about setting up a charity or doing a big fundraiser (however, if you have the time and passion - go forth!) It can be as little as complementing the lady at the bus stop on her shoes, buying your partner their favourite chocolate on the way home, giving your friend a lift to the airport etc. Their happiness from your small act of kindness is bound to rub off, it makes you feel good, and you feel better about yourself. Plus a smile reduces stress and lowers heart rate.

Tap into good memories - Whether it is a picture from a holiday or a song that brings back some seriously good memories, pull it out from the memory bank and daydream. Play a song that you love, scream out the words and sing along, even if your singing can be improved slightly ;). This will help you reduce your anxiety and is a no brainer to have you on your path to a better mood including feeling happy.

Figure out what matters to you - Knowing what I value has helped me stay true to myself in all of the choices I make. When you're living in alignment with your values it allows you to tap into the natural confidence you have in the areas that are most important to you.

Know that tough times can be good - My biggest voids are actually what are steering me through life. I believe that what challenges you the most, may be the very thing you’re destined to overcome and may hold the key to living your true purpose.
