Whilst currently in lock-down and restricted to a 10km radius, I find myself heading to some solitude down by the beach. My favourite place is to be by the beach, some sun in face, water lapping at my feet, the coolest breeze and tranquility.

I can honestly tell you whilst it is Winter here in Australia, there is only 1 person here. They are just slightly ahead of me and that’s it. I almost have the entire beach to myself. Whilst taking some gorgeous winter photos, if only to be a kid again start doing cartwheels on the sand, except I did find a basketball that has been left behind from some child.  Might just take that home with me..

It’s hot, the sun is shining, yet here you are admiring people out at play, and you have a list of chores to do a mile long.

Plus, then the memory returns that you have been putting off doing the washing all week. 

Then, an even sweeter realization occurs in the back of your mind: it’s a No Housework Day! No Housework Day is the perfect chance to let it all slide–and let tomorrow’s washing worry about themselves – or maybe I should just do one load for now.

It’s incredible the depths that this question can take us to when we go past the superficial parts of who we are: i.e.: Our name, are we female or male, or does it really matter? What do we do for a living, and whether we are married, single, parents or not.

When you think about this question and when we ask yourself. Who am I, We all start to question whether we are good enough in the eyes of the person we are telling.

When someone asks these questions at Interview - ‘Who are you?’

I feel like I am gaining courage to answer their question. I want to ask them well, who do you want me to be?  Over many years of being asked this question in so many different ways.  These three words have helped me understand what I want, and what matters to me, to my work, and in all areas of my life. The words ‘who are you?’ if you spend enough time with them and allow yourself to go the depths of the answers, answers you may never have known were even there, not only help you find the answers that could change your life but can reveal who you really are at the core.
