This week I decided to mix it up a bit. My weeks have been so hectic of late that the term slowing down is not a verb in my dictionary.

After all, what is the use of coaching staff about managing people's performance when all I seem to be doing of late is saying 'Goodbye' to people as their tears flow and I am the one to say, "I'm sorry we no longer have a job for you as I escort them out the door". No wonder I come onto SL and escape when my world at present is so negative.   I so hate my job sometimes, working in Human Resources, managing transitions, people, listening to their complaints, listening to their whines. I don't think I have had a happy day for about two weeks.. So does that mean I need a change? Perhaps...or maybe I just need to do something different afterwards.

In saying the above though,  I love routine. Love it. I love the tried and true methods that work well.
I often tell people about how fantastic routine can be. I extol the virtues of boundaries.
 Yet, I was not always such a person, was I? While never exactly intrepid, I was once a little adventurous, wasn't I?   Well, suffice to say, a breath of fresh air was long overdue so I conducted three experiments.  First, I altered my fitness routine. I did the same circuit of exercises in the gym, but I changed the order in which I do them. I wanted to see how I would feel after and what impact the change would have on my workout. I expected to be muddled, do fewer exercises and barely break a sweat.  The surprising result was that I worked harder and finished sooner. I expended more energy in a more efficient way and forgot to think about the bad day/s that I had at work.

Secondly, I tried a different route on a walk I make every day. This change was forced upon me by an unforeseen hitch called child taxi.  But in the spirit of making the best of things and avoiding recriminations, I went with the challenge of taking a different route. The astonishing result was that the new route was quicker. Thirdly, I laid down at night and started watching Game of Thrones, and threw my book to the side.

Taking a different route in life sometimes is good for the soul, so is taking a walk to our fantastic destination below - The Thrift Shop where everything is under $100L.

This deliberate and gradual emanation of spring has taught me to appreciate every aspect of the season for I was able to see each and every petal, to breathe in all the aromas, to hear the raindrops on the leaves. A spring that saunters in with a pause here and there is a spring I can devour with my senses. With a slow emerging spring comes the lesson of patience. Flowers open more slowly. Trees leaf out to the tune of an adagio tempo, sleepily moving forward. As I savoured the gradual pace of spring's materialization, there were times when I was anxious for some aspect of the spring I knew from past years. Taming my yearning for something more quickly taught me to sit back and let nature work in its own time. Now comes the season of summer. After having experienced the moderate pace of spring, I am curious as to how this summer will emerge. Summer is usually hot and dry and somewhat of a rest for this gardener who spends much time preparing the garden in spring. No matter what summer brings it is welcome and a time for relaxing in the shade and watching all the lovely bursts of life in the landscape. Summer brings lazy days  slow rambles by the creek catching a glimpse of butterflies, and early warm mornings listening to birds awaken and stretch through the sky. One of my favorite authors is a lady by the name of Jean Auel. Some of her amazing creations and stories are based on a women by the name of Ayla and her man - Jondular. This creative fantasy piece from OrsiniRed reminds me of their story which I would like to share with you from this small passage below from the book called:- The Valley of the Horses - Earths Children.

I don't know why I love this authors books so much, maybe it is the two couples wanderings together, their adventure, their love, and sorrows, or perhaps it is simply the talented descriptive words that Jean Auel uses in her book. Whatever the reason, we all love a good book on occasions, and this one I struggle to put down. This eloquent series captures me from the moment I start reading and it takes me away to another time and place. Hope this passage inspires you to pick up one of her books and you feel the thrill like myself which mesmerizes you from the beginning.

The Season warmed, and, as one day followed the next, Ayla grew tired of travelling, tired of the monotony of the steppes, tired of the unrelenting sun and incessant wind. Her skin roughened, cracked and peeled. Her lips were chapped, her eyes sore, her throat always full of grit. Sometimes we all need to take a little break and just relax. I hear that said to me quite often. I seem to as people say be often burning the candle at both ends. Whether that be working non stop, or just trying to relax on a day off. With all the plans made for today, I still can't relax. Think it is karma.

My graphics card has decided to give me a major heart ache today and no matter what I do I am finding more problems. That's if it is the graphics card.

Think I have overburdened my friends as well, asking for major help with regards to being IT solutions. Well after spending the whole day on fixing the computer, bring on Mr Pc doctor this weekend and hopefully it will be nothing major just perhaps means am offline for a few days.  (If you know how to help IT problems IM me quickly.. I even have installed the latest graphic driver.. and still crashes when on high)..?

For now though, before the computer freezes again and crashes like it has all day, I would like to finish this blog and invite you to come and take a peek at a gorgeous designer called Sassy.

Well today is Monday, You either love it or hate it.  Take a good look at the people around you now. Some will have stayed up all weekend, some will have had an early night, while others are simply buzzing with energy. Most will be moping around, looking tired and bored and mourning the loss of their weekend. 

But fear not, Did you hear the news? I am so excited to tell you. I can hear people saying, What, What's happening? What have I missed?...

 Well it is Designer Showcase time and there are some excellent SL designers just waiting to show you what they have made for you in the world of fashion. Items ridiculously low for Second life and definitely worth the visit today.

As humans we are largely responsive to visual cues (pictures) whether we like to admit it or not.
Pictures have the ability to make us feel happy, excited, disgusted, and curious among other things.
We can remember a famous brand just by looking at their image and can even reminisce 10, 20, 30 years into the past to a moment in our lives where we were affected emotionally by a specific event simply by looking at an old picture.  Images can also warn us or give us clues about to what’s to come. Magazines understand the basic nature of human beings and our inability to ignore powerful images.

Images convey emotion about what you are talking about in a powerfully sensory based way and gives additional depth to your content.  Good images create an atmosphere that people want to invoke themselves in and be a part of.  If your visitors can relate to and connect with your images you’ve increased the likelihood that they will return.

Have you ever just sat down and looked into the sky and just day dreamed. Not for anything in particular you just start staring at the water around you, glancing at the trees nearby, spying a bird or two flittering across the sky. You seem content and happy, yet there was just something that made your mind drift away.

Sometimes that happens to me a lot, it can happen when I am content or with friends. I find myself wishing for something greater, something more.  Daydreaming for what? I ask myself why certain things happen, Why can't I control life.  I guess, simply put..It's your life. It's ok if you can't control others. It's just not ok if you can't control your life and let others control yours.

You only have one chance to live this life. Don't pass this precious chance to others. It's your life.
It is completely yours. Make it how you want it to be, live it your way, but don't waste it. This is what I tell myself everyday. I am my own destiny, and for those of you that strive for something more, you only have one life so enjoy.. cause you should do what you want with it and don't let anyone change it..

For our destination today, I would like to take you to Room 69.. Everything at $69L or under. So don't delay, come take a visit to our destination below.

There is no escaping the fact that household chores are an essential part of our lives; cooking, washing and cleaning are done in every home on a daily basis and of all the domestic chores, cleaning is likely to be the least favourite, and is mine. 

I have such a dislike at cleaning up after people and cleaning not only requires effort it is also very time-consuming; unless of course you are using the professional services of a cleaning company.  No matter what, if you are like me, I spend at least one whole day to cleaning house, grocery shopping and then tidying after some slobs all after working one whole week. Don't get me wrong, I'm not lazy one little bit, I just can't stand mess, and prefer my house to glow and smell pretty.  I so wish for a magic Genie sometimes to have everyone be like me and pick up after themselves, just to give a hand rather than leave mess and expect the maid to do their work for them. :)

So I guess with that in mind, I took the concept of cleaning to SL and now have been for the past month, tidying up my inventory, which had some 35,000 items all messy and out of place and I must admit it is looking fantastic and so easy to find items now.

Doing the household chores is rarely fun and it is even less so when faced with having to do it at a time when other individuals are out and about enjoying themselves or simply chilling out, so with that in mind, the house can wait for another day, as my relaxation starts now as SL comes a beckoning this weekend.

I loooove when you find a spot when the low tide is still receding and just strong enough to carry the shells along with it. Shelling as they call it is one of my favourite pastimes. It is addictive. As you walk along the beach and admire the beauty of the shining sparkling lights that reflect off the shells. You flick your fingers across the shell, turning if over to see if broken, any inhabitants still in there, you ask? Once you dust off the sand, and the salt some of the shells are truly amazing.

As I live very close to the beach, unfortunately, I can’t hide that I have a Seashell problem.

Friends get worried when they see me walking the beach. Why is she keeping the eyes on the ground instead of contemplating waves and horizon as is the custom? “Have you lost something?” They ask?
They know me better now and can't help but join in and say look what I found :)

Fishermen watch  too. They wonder what profitable business is this foreign woman in too, Crab hunting? No,  this woman just loves seashell hunting, and my whole bathroom is full of them. All nestled into a beautiful glass bowl, that sits lovingly by the window sill, sparkling lights across the bathroom.

So my destination for today, is to come and explore the wonders of SL as you never know what treasures you may find as you walk along the beach.
