Well it has been quiet a year. Can't say that 2013 has been a great year for me, but in saying that throughout SL, work, home, and play. I have met many, many beautiful people along the way, some that will stay with me for a very long time to come.  It has taken to this month - December, to not feel like the Christmas Grinch. Many hiccups, adventures and sadness throughout the year.

No matter what this time of the year brings, two days out from Christmas, relaxing with a glass of red, feeling the well welcomed breeze from outside.  I am starting to feel the energy, the love, the passion of Christmas and most of all excited about sharing the special day with my loved ones.

Fashion Trends do tend to come back in cycles, however the rendition of the hippie values never fades. Feeling very much like a bounty hunter standing here. What I didn't know is that Bounty Hunting is an important part of the American life. It all started from when outlaws like when Jesse James and Butch Cassidy roamed the land, local sheriffs didn't have the resources to track them down alone. So they put up "Wanted" posters offering rewards for their capture.  Bounty hunters now answer the call, tracking the bad guys relentlessly for a piece of the reward money. They do anything to bring in the outlaws, "dead or alive."

Today, the stereotype of the rogue bounty hunter remains, even though most modern bounty hunters are trained and licensed professionals. The Wild West free-for-all has been transformed into a real business and is an integral part of the American justice system.

You might only just be getting your head round this summer's trends, but the fashion world is already gearing up for Spring/Summer 2014. One such festival you can't delay in visiting is the "The Summer Break Festival" which is open until August 4th.  The Summer Break festival showcases the amazing colours and materials that are available for such low lindens from such awe inspiring designers.

The colours this summer, not only included casual yet sensual , they also included a nod to the orient, a global awakening.  Such colours delved into the exotic lands of Morocco and India with rich material conversations like jacquard to heavy embellished details. Silhouettes speak to tradition with items like tunics, sarouel pants, flowing dresses which showcased such elegance that makes you feel like a goddess.

This week I decided to mix it up a bit. My weeks have been so hectic of late that the term slowing down is not a verb in my dictionary.

After all, what is the use of coaching staff about managing people's performance when all I seem to be doing of late is saying 'Goodbye' to people as their tears flow and I am the one to say, "I'm sorry we no longer have a job for you as I escort them out the door". No wonder I come onto SL and escape when my world at present is so negative.   I so hate my job sometimes, working in Human Resources, managing transitions, people, listening to their complaints, listening to their whines. I don't think I have had a happy day for about two weeks.. So does that mean I need a change? Perhaps...or maybe I just need to do something different afterwards.

In saying the above though,  I love routine. Love it. I love the tried and true methods that work well.
I often tell people about how fantastic routine can be. I extol the virtues of boundaries.
 Yet, I was not always such a person, was I? While never exactly intrepid, I was once a little adventurous, wasn't I?   Well, suffice to say, a breath of fresh air was long overdue so I conducted three experiments.  First, I altered my fitness routine. I did the same circuit of exercises in the gym, but I changed the order in which I do them. I wanted to see how I would feel after and what impact the change would have on my workout. I expected to be muddled, do fewer exercises and barely break a sweat.  The surprising result was that I worked harder and finished sooner. I expended more energy in a more efficient way and forgot to think about the bad day/s that I had at work.

Secondly, I tried a different route on a walk I make every day. This change was forced upon me by an unforeseen hitch called child taxi.  But in the spirit of making the best of things and avoiding recriminations, I went with the challenge of taking a different route. The astonishing result was that the new route was quicker. Thirdly, I laid down at night and started watching Game of Thrones, and threw my book to the side.

Taking a different route in life sometimes is good for the soul, so is taking a walk to our fantastic destination below - The Thrift Shop where everything is under $100L.
