It’s incredible the depths that this question can take us to when we go past the superficial parts of who we are: i.e.: Our name, are we female or male, or does it really matter? What do we do for a living, and whether we are married, single, parents or not.

When you think about this question and when we ask yourself. Who am I, We all start to question whether we are good enough in the eyes of the person we are telling.

When someone asks these questions at Interview - ‘Who are you?’

I feel like I am gaining courage to answer their question. I want to ask them well, who do you want me to be?  Over many years of being asked this question in so many different ways.  These three words have helped me understand what I want, and what matters to me, to my work, and in all areas of my life. The words ‘who are you?’ if you spend enough time with them and allow yourself to go the depths of the answers, answers you may never have known were even there, not only help you find the answers that could change your life but can reveal who you really are at the core.

Have you ever been in a position when everything seems to go wrong at the same time?

In my case, I had a recent house fire. 

You hear about it happening on the news and you think oh seriously why didn’t they blow out the candle before bed, turn the heater off, make sure the cigarette was out etc, etc.

 In my case I was not home.

Some electrical bolt decided to surge through my power box outside, kill switch did not work, and the only appliance closest to it was an old kettle and bang, fire, and smoke was billowing through my house for some time. Luckily my neighbour was close by and at the time arrived to feed my cat whilst I was away, stumbled across this emergency. You could imagine her panic!!  (PS Cat is ok).

So after a week of paperwork, assessments on the house, people coming and going, moving clothes, cat, and furniture to storage, and now finally sitting here trying to catch up on blogs whilst I am in temporary accommodation – and thinking about what could have happened...

It is a kind reminder that whatever materialistic items you have, they mean nothing when you could have lost your loved ones, family or friends.

So bear with me whilst I get my life back in order, as I will be off and on for a while.
