No matter how much we want things to stay the same, life is all about change. 

Sometimes change is for the better, and sometimes it’s not. No matter why things are changing, we need to be able to let go and move on. Whether it’s the death of a loved one, a painful breakup, a business failure, or a treacherous betrayal, holding onto past pain and resentment will only hold you back.

The process of letting go of someone you love is one of life’s most painful experiences. When you have invested a considerable amount of time and emotional energy in someone, the prospect of living without them may be unthinkable. You may look back on the memories you shared, the plans you made, and feel nothing but psychic agony. If you are newly broken up, envisaging a new future may feel close to impossible. You may find yourself ruminating on what you could have done differently, the arguments you may have had, and the things you regret saying.

Every relationship is unique, and there are many reasons why cutting ties may be the kindest solution for all parties. Maybe you discovered as time went on that your values and dreams did not align. At first you may have hoped that you could overcome your differences, but in the end they drove you apart. Sometimes, love just isn’t enough and you come to the sad conclusion that it’s time to part ways. Whatever the trigger, the emotional fallout will be considerable. Be kind to yourself and expect it will take some time getting used to being on your own again.

Wicca is an eclectic religious belief centred around gods, goddesses, and nature worship.  Wicca is the love of nature and its elements primarily earth, air, fire, water, sun, moon and so on. It does not worship nature, but loves it, most wiccans are very nature oriented. The love of nature and paganism was an important part of Romantic Movement in English literature. Wicca is based on "harmony with nature and all aspects of the god and goddess divinity."

 Wiccan practice involves the manipulation of nature through various rituals in attempts to gain power, prestige, love, or whatever else a Wiccan wants.  It uses symbols in its ceremonies and follows the calendar in reference to Wiccan festivals.  Its roots are in ancient agrarian Celtic Society.  It is considered Neo-Pagan (based on old European and pre-Christian belief systems). Wicca does not have a structure of clergy and/or congregations.  But it does have priests and priestesses which are in leadership positions within covens that have witches.  The varying traditions of Wicca have different requirements for attaining the level of priest and priestess.  Some of the more common varieties of Wicca are 1734, Alexandrian, Celtic, Dianic, Dicordian, Eclectic, Gardnerian, and Georgian.  Wicca is even recognized as a religion in the military.

There are two basic codes by which the Wiccans live.  First is the Wiccan Rede which states, "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will".  This means that a Wiccan is free to use his or her magic as long as it doesn't harm anyone.  The second is the Threefold Law which says that all the good you do will return to you threefold in this life.  Likewise, all the harm you do will return to threefold as well. In Wicca, a person is free to discover his or her own path.  

Wicca is a deep appreciation and awe in watching the sunrise or sunset, the forest in the light of a glowing moon, a meadow enchanted by the first light of day.   It is the morning dew on the petals of a beautiful flower, the gentle caress of a warm summer breeze upon your skin, or the warmth of the summer sun on your face.   

Wicca is the fall of colourful autumn leaves, and the softness of winter snow.   It is light, and shadow and all that lies in between.  It is the song of the birds and other creatures of the wild. Whilst I don't know any Wicca's myself, I do adore the harmony of nature and all that it offers.

It’s fair to say that I am not a morning person. In fact getting out of bed is my least favourite part of the day. After that everything gets better. I always wake up slowly and If I haven't got my coffee percolating by the time the eyes open I can't function and get cranky amongst anyone that is around.

I went into the country last week and took my trusty camera with me and awoke to the sounds of kookaburras calling into the mist and snapped some beautiful pics while having a wander. I can see why morning people like to get up early. It really is beautiful in the freshness of the morning, with the mist floating over the ground, and the crispness of the air always looks gorgeous in the early morning light. If only bed wasn’t so comfy and warm…

There would be something really rather magical about going to work and seeing a man dressed in a wonderfully elaborate Captain Hook costume on his way to the office with a hook on one hand and a briefcase in the other. Or seeing a bus go by and inside it there’s a witch dressed in flowing black robes, a tall hat on her head, broomstick in one hand and the other hand holding a  newspaper.

I love that adults get to act like kids again, dressing up in weird and wonderful costumes and acting out their fantasies. I love that kids get to dress up to, pretending they are adults, superheros and princesses and magical creatures.

One hospital that I know in Australia has a particularly delightful tradition at Halloween. They hold  a party for all the children who started out fighting for their lives.  After weeks, or in some cases months, the kids get to go home and start the rest of their life, but every year they come back in their hundreds, dressed as lions and tigers and bears and pirates, to thank the staff who cared for them.

The staff get dressed up as well and there is something wonderful about seeing a Director  dressed as a medieval wench and her husband as a marauding viking. To see all the families, who have been through so much, having such a great time with their kids – kids who almost didn’t make it – is a true gift. It’s a reminder that what we have is so precious that we must never lose sight of how fortunate we are. So why not dress up as a pirate or a scary celebrity once a year and let our your inner demon. There’s plenty of other days for being serious.
