While writing the novel, Charlotte stated: “I will show you a heroine as plain and as small as myself.” Jane Eyre was also one of the first novels to be told from the perspective of a child while they were still a child and how those experiences shaped a person’s adult life.




Because Jane was poor and not bound by social convention, Jane embraced and searched for greater meaning in life - “I would always rather be happy than dignified.” Jane showed that women could be vulnerable. -“Crying does not indicate that you are weak. Since birth, it has always been a sign that you are alive.” When dealing with depressed thoughts, Jane advised “there is no shame in feeling sad. -“I could not help it: the restlessness was in my nature; it agitated me to pain sometimes.”

For my '501' post (YAY), I would like to thank my southern friend Alles for her amazing creativity and her awesomeness in being a good friend, photographer and mate.

The story behind this pic today, is that I was looking for somewhere we could blog one of my favorite designers and that being Zerkalo. I wanted to showcase Zerkalo's great works from the latest event @ Enchantment.

I had seen so many people dressed as mermaids, and Zerkalo themselves had created the fantastic picture decor item being "Little Mermaid" with the peaceful scene in water. Alles says to me "I can be a mermaid?. I said what if we did something totally different. So we nutted it out for a while and then voila, the imagination took hold. That we pretended to walk through a sandy desert to find ourselves a mermaid. So without further ado, a little adapted from what we had originally thought I would like to share with you today, our destinations for today:-

What I love to do better than nothing else is to go outside and escape for a few hours with friends of family on a getaway picnic. We all have this inbuilt excitement in all of us if we can find that new picnic place to share. Sometimes it might be a couple of hours drive, but when we all get there, the daughters and wives, prepare the lunch, the fellas kick the ball around with their kids, and well me I prefer to run to the car, throw out the rugs, grab the stuff that I was told to get and then start chasing the kids around trying to get the ball. 

I'm not much of a picnic lunch organiser you see. I get told what to bring. Like constantly reminded, bring the rolls, make sure there are 12, don't forget the margarine, bring some wine and make sure you have some cups. The list is never ending...

However though, I love the feeling of getting together with the family, friends and watching the children grow up. Am sure the kicking of the ball will maybe stop one day but what the heck, it is what I look forward to when going on a picnic.

There is a place not far from home, when feeling overtired, stressed, or just spent in general, that I find my solitude.  This place feels like home. It is where I was taken on holidays, where I spent every single minute of my time exploring as a child.

Now as an adult, I drive to this place, get out of the car, and walk along the road and just breathe in the fresh crisp air. Listen to the sounds of nature, the beauty of the scenery. Not many people know of this place which for now is quite serene and no tourists around. The harmony of this place, relaxes my mind and makes me feel at peace. It helps me think about life, whether I could ever change a person's mind about me and whether I could be more than just a friend.

This place is my solitude and  where I feel like I belong. Do you have one of those places?
