Delicious seasonal goodness meets pure culinary passion at the Patch, where the chefs explore the natural connections between kitchens, gardens and a space to unwind. According to the seasons, Patch produces a frequently changing fresh, wholesome, and enticing menu, which is locally sourced locally wherever possible.

Patch caters for people with intolerances and has something on the menu to appeal to most, including children.

Patch’s warm and modern renovation was designed by Mischa to reflect simpler days through quirky references to things you would find in your grandfather’s shed, complete with its timber racks, assorted tools and pot plants, books to read whilst you sit with a coffee/tea as you soak up the sun. The Patch team feel honoured to be responsible for this next chapter in the life of this building originally designed by Cinoe and see it as a hub for the community, where people gather to relax, connect, and enjoy.

Remember though social distancing at this time is always required!.

#944 Antiques and Old Wares...

Much of what we buy loses value: cars, clothes and the stuff we fill our homes with.

Houses are the major exception, but you can often include art, antiques and the increasingly popular vintage pieces.

I love nothing more than taking a stroll through old Antique shops and looking at jewellery, or the old quirky item that many of my friends would pick up and say, Oh wow, how unusual, or how pretty.

What I also enjoy, is bringing out many of my now thousands of inventory items in Secondlife and bringing them back to life once again....

There is something inherently therapeutic about the sea. Just being near to it has a powerful effect on me: The mind clears, the heart rate slows and, as we breathe in the clean, salty air, time stands still, and all our worries seem to fade…

As early as I can remember in my childhood. The beach/sea brings a smile to my face. Childhood is when the basic elements of our identity are put into the place; who are we and where we belong to. The sea was strongly present in my childhood...

If someone would ask me what is my favorite place on earth I would immediately know the answer: My favourite place is by the beach. A beach that is close to my heart, and where my memories come back with smiles thinking about that beach. Memories of building sandcastles, playing on the amusements in the park, laughing with family, or soaking up the sun on the beach. Now as an adult the memories are more of the physical kind where I either walk, jog or run along the sand at my beach and remember all of the fun I had on that beach.

I just find the sea an excellent form of visual meditation. It’s one of the few things that gets more interesting the longer you stare at it. Waves jostle and hiss on the sand, the sound of large surf and the smells that surround you. Unidentified birdcalls and the rare occurrence of dolphins swimming in the sea.

The beach gives me a sense of belonging and I belong with the sea…

#922 Day six in quarantine......

As we are all aware some countries are in quarantine. Can you imagine for children how scared they may be..Italy is so far the hardest hit in Europe, but the virus is spreading throughout the continent. Italy is trying to slow the outbreak.. the borders are closed, and everyone is in their homes, trying to wave out and shelter amid the chaos that surrounds them..

Unlike some of our neighbors like within Australia, we wait patiently to see what happens next...

What we need to remember is to breathe.. Remember to have fun, to breathe in fresh air, yes that is correct. Fresh air out on your verandah, get some sun, love our family and friends, and to put on a smile and not be scared, to think positively everything will be ok. To look after our elders and... try and find that damn toilet paper..
