#713 Not every witch lives in Salem...


There’s a certain amount of irony in the fact that while Salem’s infamous reputation was formed as a result of a fear of witches, today it is a place where witches gather openly. By witches I mean those who follow the Wiccan religion. 

To appreciate the fact that Salem today is a measure of how far our nation has come. 
While we still struggle with some religious intolerance in various forms, its most virulent forms of the past – i.e. evil witches have been vanquished.  

The thriving pagan community in Salem and all over the world is a testimony to religious freedom — freedom which in part was forged in the fires of the Salem Witch Trials.  

The horror with which the larger nation reacted to the trials led in no small part to our constitutionally protected right to religious freedom and that of the separation of church and state. 

For all those who practice the art of Wiccan, and look forward to Halloween, may those that died, rest in peace, and may we never again hunt witches, in whatever form they appear.

#709 Dear Diary.. It's all about the coffin..


So much to say and so little time to write this for you all today. There are soooo many events on at present, and whilst I am showcasing quite a lot of Shiny Shabby items for you, there are also two other gacha's that you must visit. Death Row Designs have an amazing gacha for you with their  Bloodcroft Hunt, and exciting items such as a Rare Castle and the amazing lace coffin in the background where I am sitting. DRD also have a  sim wide hunt to collect a complete vampire slayer kit. 11 items in today and one amazing final prize upon completion of finding the hanging bats. These items are exclusive to The Bloodcroft Hunt and will not be available again.

Other exciting gachas available at present is that of Thor, who has a new collection composed of old recolored and some new items as well. This is a limited edition for Halloween and on sale for $666L until beginning November.

#704 I remember the good ole days...


Recently I was contacted by some old friends that I had not seen or heard from in about 15 years. Oh the power of facebook! As we talked, I began to realize that they might be victims of what I refer to as Glory Day Syndrome, which is basically a nostalgic longing for the so called " Good ole Days".

We all started to speak of the good ole days and it brought back a flood of memories:-

·        I remember growing up in a yard filled with fruit trees, you name it (mulberries galore) which was an adventure in itself. If you could not climb a tree then you were at the mercy of the people who could, and I am happy to say I was an expert climber.
·        I remember being a real tomboy, flying kites, playing marbles and cricket. Racing the boys to the beach and yelling out “slow coaches”. Those were the good old days. I loved them.

Hopefully, we all have fond memories associated with different times of our lives, times that stood out as special. We think of those times with great fondness and we enjoy reflecting on them.

As long as we can continue to look forward to tomorrow with a positive sense of eager anticipation then we are fine. Our good old days are just the really memorable parts of our living experience, but we also need to focus on creating memorable moments now.
