You walk into a bar and music is thumping. All
heads are bobbing and feet tapping in synchrony. Somehow the rhythmic sound
grabs control of everyone in the room forcing them to operate
simultaneously and perform the same behaviors in synchrony. How is this
possible?
Is it the drumming, the rhythm itself that grabs our attention, or is it something more. I find that rhythm facilitates our interpersonal
interactions in term of not only how we move, but also how we talk and think.
The power of music still to this day can make
me smile, laugh, and captivate feelings of past childhood and love. Music seems to take you away, grabbing feelings that are hypnotic and takes you to a different time and place.
