I am sitting here this morning working, staring out at the array of mess out my window from what was a beautiful landscape of trees, colour, and ambiance, and at times many cute adorable bunnies that come out in the late afternoon to eat the grass from their hidden burrows. What I am seeing and hearing beside me now is the grinding of those beautiful trees, the endless cracking of the trees falling down, the massacre of that beauty now all strewn and scattered across the ground. The amount that has been cleared would equate to a football field. Did all the trees need to come down, did every single part of the ground have to be cleared?
Call me a nature lover, stupid, or sentimental, but given it is winter here, I feel a little sad as the bunnies have lost the warmth of their burrows at night, the birds are without their shelter and have surely moved on, some laying dead, from their nests which some of us have triued to save, and the gorgeous trees of perhaps 40+ years are now wasted on the ground fallen over being grinded into chip mulch, just because it was decided the land had to be cleared to build.
I believe it is far more important to save one square mile of wilderness, anywhere, than to reap the land of its beauty... all for greed.
