One in three homeowners admits they regularly ‘spy’ on their neighbours. (Fact)
The study of 2,000 adults revealed we cannot stop keeping tabs on those next door with nearly half admit peeking outside whenever they hear any ‘goings-on’ outdoors. Nearly half can recite the times their neighbours leave and return from work, and have even spotted when a new car turns up in the driveway or if a stranger visits. Some even to the point notice parcels being delivered, if a couple argue more than normal or even when the online shopping comes These are some common aspects people know about those living close by. One in 10 curtain-twitchers admitted they have been spotted peering through the windows by their next door neighbour.
Peeping toms have also admited whether a couple are having marital issues. The intimacy of a relationship is common knowledge - over a quarter knew a neighbouring couple were having real troubles and one in ten even know a neighbour currently having an affair.
So when a new neighbour comes to town, are you a peeping tom? or would you call yourself a curtain twitcher ;)
