One day about 550 years ago the residents in a town in Germany, crowded to the city walls to see a strange group of people who wanted admittance into the city. These wayfarers were short, dark and well proportioned, with jet black hair and eyes. Some of the men were very handsome, and the women, beautiful. They had travelled on carts drawn by donkeys and horses. It has been said that they were our first Gypsies.

Today some bands of Gypsies continue to travel in various parts of the world. In some locations, especially in remote regions, they may still travel by horseback, wagon, or donkey. In other "modern" locations, they may travel in a convoy of trucks, campers, or RVs. 550 years later, Gypsies still exist today. Feeling very bohemian today, I am wearing this new inspiring design by Indrya Originals.

As the Fantasy Faire for 2013 is almost upon us, this destination today reminded me of  a poem I once heard written by a Michelle Macdonald. It captures the romance within Secondlife quite well.
For some of you in Secondlife, your journey here is to be with that special someone for company, satisfaction, romance and/or love.  For others it can also take you to the next step in real life if that is your desire.  All of us are on Secondlife for various reasons, most are here to find that part of us in real life that is missing. For others it is for the company and the new found friendships that we find along the way.

For those of you that have met that special someone then this poem is for you today.

For the role-play enthusiasts, there is nothing more exhilarating than being able to teleport back to a time and a place in the 1860's.   One such place that I found today is called 'Old Savannah'. This role-playing sim has created an atmosphere that takes you back to a time in history during the civil war in Georgia.

Wearing these unique and stylish new jeans from Legal Insanity that come in many different colours such as eggplant, grass, beige, black, orange, pink, military green and petrol, coupled with the creative animation effects from Elephante, I feel like ducking behind this carriage as gun shooting can be heard in the distance.

Feeling excited to have been accepted as a blogger for Fantasy Faire 2013, I bring to you an event that is worth schedulling into your calendar.  Celebrating its fifth year, Fantasy Faire 2013 is the largest gathering of fantasy designers, enthusiasts, roleplayers and performers in the virtual world.

Fantasy Faire will include eight lavishly landscaped shopping sims created by some of the top designers in Second Life.  These include: Crimson Fields (by Laufey Markstein, The DragonSpire (by Khyle Sion), Evensong Woods (by Searlait Nitschke), Lotus Valley Dream (by Marcus Inkpen/ Sharni Azalee), Lumenaria (by Kayle Matzerath), Magnificat (by Alia Baroque), Ravenshard (by Mayah Parx), and Titans Hollow (by Elicio Ember).   Destination Landmarks to come soon.

Many designers will showcase their works especially for this event with something for everyone.  Shopping, live music concerts, auctions, hunts and roleplaying as thousands of Second Life residents and creators come together to support the American Cancer Society’s vision of a world without cancer.
