From one Aussie to another, I would like to thank Alles for the idea and concept about having this photo taken together. I think as Aussies, we commonly share a friendship called 'Mateship'. Mateship or the word 'mate' is used to describe friends, colleagues, even so much as the other person in an argument.
For Australia Day which is held on the 26th January of each year, more than anything else, we know mateship lives... "We will hang on to our Aussie mateship and our Aussie fair go, in the worst of times and in the best of times, because we're Australian." We pitch in and help one another, not only when called for help -ie: clean up of storms, a place to live if need be, but also showing loyalty to a friend when they need it. Mateship remains strong in Australian culture and it will forever.
